Most of the video retells the news stories from back then, bit added interviews with the first photographer, jet pilot, joint chief of staff. Based on the video

- ballon didn’t spy. Sensors were not activated over USA

- likely unexpected wind blew it off its course

- politicians overreacted “but by then the [diplomacy] damage was done”

What I haven’t heard an answer to yet is.. why didn’t China say anything?

Seems like common courtesy if you’re accidentally flying a balloon with enough power and equipment to do pretty sophisticated spying over a country.. is to like, pick up a phone and call the authorities in that country and give them a heads up. No? Even if it wasn’t so full of equipment it’d be reasonable to expect a notification if you’re unexpectedly flying over another country.

That was my thought when hearing about it the first time. I never thought it likely that it was actually spying, but it was still shitty behaviour from China.
