DHH: Not everyone can be the best

I’m only as good as I am at building software because I started my professional career working with seven brilliant, mid career people who set a high bar and encouraged me at every step. It’s not coincidence, but perhaps lucky - if I had started elsewhere I would have had the same motivation (perhaps) but without the examples to follow I may have developed bad habits instead of good ones.

I do think innate skill helped me. But at this point I can’t separate my beliefs from my biases so take it with a grain of salt.
