Why do consultants invent words?

It has been said by many on this site before: you pay a consultant to tell you what you want to hear and to tell you the things you fears others might not want to hear.

Next step is then to say “it wasn’t me, the consultant said it!” To deflect all criticism.

And it works. So why change the system?
