Better, no. Cheaper, heck yes. At least try 3.5-turbo to figure out what you want. Then see if you can get acceptable performance from something cheaper or even hosted locally. GPT4 should be reserved for tasks that nothing else can handle.

Whatever you're trying to do that isn't acceptably handled by something cheaper.
