An uncle of mine was the family's computer guy. He died over 10 years ago, and I got about 2 PCs from the late 90s from cleaning out his house. They sat for a while, and I was able to get the Pentium 2 going. It now has a Pentium 3, and I turn it on every few months to retrocompute.

My parents never had a computer strictly from that vintage but almost everyone else did, and I dreamed of them. Our home PC jumped from a Pentium MMX 233 (socket 7) to a Duron 1.2 (socket A).
