EU to drop ban of hazardous chemicals after industry pressure

I've been noticing a big trend since the start of this year of a lot of these decisions by the EU favouring short-term industry profits over the common man. Is this an effect of the rise of the profits-first right across Europe now having trickled through to the EU level?
