#4The author says the Hakka are Taiwanese aboriginal people, but I'm not sure they are. They're not recognised as aboriginal by the Taiwanese government [1].

They are absolutely not. The author is clearly confused from drinking too much 雄黃酒 even while claiming the contrary.
