#2tl;dr: …provides an easy and compact way to identify your own music files, or to match/correct music metadata. Looking up tracks on MusicBrainz can be a challenge, since you need to understand the schema. Not so with this dataset – import the dataset into your favorite datastore and start looking up tracks.

#3If you've ever wanted to write your own music tagger, but the right data was missing to make it a fun/easier job, now is the time. I'd love to know what people think of the data set -- we at MetaBrainz have been making a lot of use of it. It powers the incoming Listen matching on our ListenBrainz project with great success.
