How can we let someone freeze to death in today's world?

I concur, and add animals to the list.

In Ontario and in other cold wintery places, many homeless cats starve and freeze to death during the winter months.

How can we let that happen? Well, pet owners let that happen when they don't spay or neuter their beloved cats.
