#2I think this is correct; if you would design a language from scratch, and optimise for accessibility, you definitely would not go logographic, tonal, non-phonetic like Chinese. There are other measures of efficiency though - in terms of information density, it is likely more efficient in written form than alphabetical languages. And of course if you optimise for security, its lack of accessibility is a plus
