Show HN: Best Visa Jobs – curated jobs from top companies that sponsor visas

It’s a shame that our immigration system necessitates that a site like this exist.

I know there's companies that pay their employees the same amount independently of location (ie, an employee with skill level N in San Francisco earns the same amount as another employee with skill level N in Atlanta, Mexico City, Vancouver, Bogota, etc).

I'd be very interested in a site that compiles those companies.

same! This is worse than paywall. If I don't have a Google account what am I supposed to do? I know it's hard to imagine people who don't have Google accounts but I can assure you that they exist. More importantly, it should be a choice not a requirement!

I find the imprecise language that gets thrown around on visas unhelpful. My understanding is that a US company can try to sponsor your H1-B if you're already on OPT, but the government holds a visa lottery process, so the decision about whether or not you ultimately get it is random and not up to the company. Similarly, once you have an H1-B you can then transfer it to another employer, but this isn't a 'sponsorship'- this is a visa transfer, a completely separate legal process. Finally there's sponsorship for an actual Green Card. Just because a company does 1 of these 3 things, doesn't necessarily mean that they do the other 2.

I think it'd be helpful if people in the industry used more precise language and specified what exactly they're looking for from the companies, sorry to be nitpicky. I just have this conversation a lot. I don't know what specific legal steps the companies on this guy's website do

It looks exactly like a scam site to me. Some information to get gullible people to start clicking and giving away information, but not anything actionable or verifiable. I wouldn't register an account, let alone use a google login or anything similar.
