That feedback was from a founder and not a VC. The correct answer is, of course, "Because we are looking to use YC's network to get us the investment that will take us to $1m MMR," or whatever your number is.

That's very true, right now our best-performing channel is referrals and second is cold outbound (dogfooding our product).
