Ask HN: Are interviews harder to land than ever?

I have seen hundreds of submitted applications for roles and folks receiving 0 interviews — and these are for highly qualified and skilled workers that a year ago would have landed a job in a few days, let alone struggle to land an interview.

Are you all seeing the same thing?

Same here. Not a single interview in 3 months. Normally by three months I’m starting a new job.

I’m probably about 50/50 ATS rejection/no response so far for submitted applications and recruiters have mostly stopped contacting me except for one or two spammy ones blowing up my email with roles completely unfit for my experience.

I’m not exactly worried about not finding a job yet, but the lack of anything to do during the day is starting to take its toll on my mental and physical health.
