How would you set up a clean, simple website quickly?

I haven't done systems administration in over ten years, but don't want the attack surface of something like Wordpress.

What is a good solution for a simple static website to show off poetry/writing and the occasional image, alongside a BTC donation link?

I feel like there's a market for this... everything I've looked at is Javascript heavy and kludgy, and in 2023 most authors understand the concept of markup, usually in the the context of vBulletin script or something.

I would say if all you've got is some html/css/a bit of js, just throw it up on netlify

More like I don't have the design skills / coding skills to do the html/css -- I last did web pages pre web 2.0.

I'm going for clean/static but not... bad/old.

I was reading about React and how you need to run JS to render even if not really doing much animation and I guess that could work but really prefer the style of web design you see with darknet sites -- it's the closest I've seen to the clean, good aspects of 90s web design
