Why would a wand large fullballs of third party and generated code for something that takes so little time and effort?

I’ve used Protobuf in Swift and it was pretty straightforward. Apple already provides a tool chain [1] so using a third party is a hard sell. I might not be fully understanding the product offering with Buf.
