Seems to be happening way often. Is it hard to point out duplicate submission during submission so these just would not happen?

Now you basically just have to know there's a dupe account/link, say "flagged for dupe", etc.... sorta clunky, I agree

#3Some observant HN users simply past prior HN links into recent posts on the same topic.
That, of course, is not a solution given the nature of how HN us used: see a cool page, drop it in HN - without looking first to see if it's already there.
There are, of course, technical solutions to the problem.
