Easier to justify the premium in the flush times, not so much in the lean times. CTO/CIO drives during booms, CFO during busts. Folks like Microsoft will continue to do well because of Azure AD uptake, M365, Teams, the ecosystem as a whole. Google should be worried. AWS is entrenched as the new Oracle, might not grow as fast, but they’re not going anywhere.

It’s opportunity cost. Is it better for developer X to increase revenue by adding a feature or save money reducing a cost? It depends.
