The real value (purchasing power) of the money went down in recent decades.

So if nominally 1.6 million looks big in 1980's terms, nowadays it is not so much. Therefore, if you as a dev are getting 160k, then you are unfairly underpaid.

The author is lying to get attention: only few are paid so much. Besides, the article looks like an unhinged stream of consciousness generated by GPT.

It's pretty big in 2022 terms. One 1,300 sq ft Bay Area ranch house per year.

Speaking as the initial author: you are correct on all counts (though I think _lying_ is a bit harsh, we've been around the internet).

Despite its appearance, it wasn't actually generated by GPT. I put a lot of work into this. Based on your comment history, I think you might actually come to agree with me.

I don't get out of bed for less than 10x that, but at a glance, it would seem Noether has constructed a conceptual framework, but neglected to use it in composing the "StartingSomewhere" beacon.

As with most governments the tendency is to reject frustration to (at least appear to) solve the most immediate issue.
