In 1995 Newseek predicted that Internet will fail: “No online database will replace your daily newspaper.”

“Any useful idea about the future should appear to be ridiculous.” — James Dater

I love skeptical predictions. So I made the ultimate list of quotes told to inventors and entrepreneurs about their projects throughout our history.

It feels like an SNL sketch.

Not sure if this is meant to be a subversive crypto-promo, or author actually considers Bitcoin successful by associating its price with legitimacy. It was meant to be a currency, and it's become an investment vehicle. That's not success.

I'd suggest applying the 20-year rule here; ignore anything after 2002 so we can get a proper historical perspective, and is less subject to opinions like ours.
