I suspect the more salient point is that a 5$ router that you can't get for less than 18$ is not a 5$ router.

Well that's not a valid point. The router is $5. The shipping is $13.

I suspect so too, but I'm not too sure they're really making any buck at all on it. Sounds like they're selling it for the cost of production
