#2I have been riding my motorcycle to work in Manhattan, three days a week, for about eight months.
I recently picked up a vest that doubles as an airbag.

#3I would add bicycles to the list too. The big problem isn't necessarily that you're a bad bicycle driver it's that people aren't looking for them and will ignore them all together. It's like many people are blind to them. Defensive driving will help but you can't be 100% right all of the time. If you ride a bike, it's only a matter of time before you get hit by a car.

Bicycles are significantly less risky than the motorized type. You still get cut off all the time by people that can't see you but you are going a lot slower when you hit them.

#5Yes. This is common knowledge and should be a surprise to no one.
What is interesting however, is that despite the risks - which are known to riders - they still choose to ride them. As a rider of a very fast bike, I do wish more people drove them so it would give drivers more perspective on motorcycles and hopefully make them more careful and aware of them.

I'm curious where do you find parking? I don't think I've seen any motorcycle only parking around fidi.

I’ve long held the belief that all drivers should be started on motorcycles before being allowed to progress to automobiles. Those who survive will be much better drivers.

I park on a random street, right next to the office, and never get a ticket.
There is an unspoken secret that you can’t get tickets in NYC if you put a cover on your motorcycle.
