#2AEG consumer electronics are pure trash nowadays and have nothing to do with the OG AEG company. IIRC, it's a Chinese brand now who licensed the AEG brand name.

As to why it needs security updates, it's because it's connected(able) to the internet.

The update process finished successfully, very likely no one thought a downgrade would be needed in such a case. I wonder why they can't just roll out another, maybe that would also hit the legit steamovens
