#2The only time I ever use one is to get in as a front-seat passenger of a lot-higher-from-the-ground SUV. For ordinary vehicles and SUVs, I never need to use it.

I don't remember using one ever. However, my granddad uses it every time to get out - he is 93. And user's manual says it is for easing getting in and out.
