They borrowed smartphones from family members, and made tripods out of wood.
Three years later, their first short film became a sensation, drawing the attention of millions of people, including Hollywood Stars.

#3The democratization of filmmaking technology makes it possible to do what only Hollywood was able to do just a decade or 2 ago. A few smartphones, drones, and laptops can produce big-budget special effects. It's exciting to see what stories are told when people create and distribute content directly instead of going through the Hollywood filter.
