Based on the number of times I've been dragged into metrics meetings and demands for quantitative not qualitative evidence for discussion of ideas at work, this fallacy may have tendrils deep inside product management in online services.

Measuring is good. It's not the only good thing.

I would say that measurements are bad, if the things you can measure cause you to ignore what can't be measured, for any reason.
