#5I found the vim/vscode one especially obnoxious. OTOH, it took me a while to work out what was 'wrong' with the Debian/Ubuntu one. Maybe there's some unconscious biases at play.

#6The JavaScript one is funny. To be honest they should have picked a different name for JavaScript since it has nothing to do with Java.

JS is an accident of history, which nobody expected would catch on at this scale.

It was done on purpose, and early on JVM was shipped with Netscape Navigator. The rebranding of LiveScript (iirc) to JavaScript was done to connect to the Java hype of the time.
