...I could've sworn I watched that spread to completely different social circles around the net in 2012 and 2013. I haven't fully kept track of the mechanism or circumstances [1], but I expected just about every factual claim and exclamation going through those conversations to be unsupportable, or untrustworthy until I had clarified [1], expecting to find a precondition to any analysis of it.
And since... either mid 2015 or Trump's campaign, every opinion I find anywhere seems to hinge on those very conversations... That I have no capacity to trust absent a solution for [1]. Perhaps my expectation of that is paranoia. I cannot tell.
It's turning into a personal issue for me now. I have almost no social contact with anyone, and the conversations that I read others having are bringing me to distrust the outside world. (For reasons that I also cannot understand myself) I had to cut off most of social media last year just to stabilize my mood... but merely HN's threads give me (near) panic attacks every few days.
So I'd like some advice:
I somewhat expect that I need to determine write up (publicly like this or just to myself) the full version of what train of thought / context leads me to my current fear / distrust... To what extent is that achievable or useful? Nor do I know if such a write up would even help me distinguish if this is all paranoia, if I could look at something for clarification, etc. I have maybe 100-300 HN comments / threads bookmarked in a separate folder, trying to characterize when different things showed up here. I don't really have the ability to ask any questions of the original people I was overhearing in 2012. Should I keep trying to do this?
Should I tell myself that it doesn't matter if everybody's movements are built on lies and try to forget about it?
...Or any other solutions that come to mind?
