#2This game was given to me by a friend and I love playing it but I can't justify the amount they want for these expansions. The expansions are more than half the price of the base game and add less than what some free mods do. I guess they're priced at what the market will pay.
I'll just stick with Mods. Mods provide as much or even more immersive experience and they're free. It's quite clear the mods are a labor of love by their creators and they have passion for it instead of cranking a money mill. Donate to the mod creators!

Totally agree with this.
Rimworld itself is amazing and I highly recommend it, but I'm lukewarm on how much value I've gotten from the Royalty expansion. It's cool, but the mods are not only more in-depth but also more customizable to specific playstyles/interests.

At this point I just want to further support the developer and like to pay that amount and bought it immediately, even if it doesn't provide that much content. Perhaps it helps him fund the next project or further addons and lets him keep working on the game.
But if money is an issue for you I understand the objection. Mods probably provide far more new content.
