What happens when Tesla Model 3 screen is smashed with a hammer while driving

If the car can function without its screen, and can even be managed with a phone app, might it be possible to create a more-functional, more-traditional control panel as an aftermarket modification? Tesla's all-screen approach is exactly the opposite of the driving experience I want.
