Like Armstrong at Coinbase, the leaders simply faced a stark choice: continue as a profitable company, or do social justice and die. Like Armstrong, they elected to do chemotherapy. If Basecamp survives, it'll be much stronger. Even if severance packages seem very generous, it's usually a small price to pay to get rid of the SJWs.
