I've always loved the idea of toy programming languages. It's part of why I joined this site. I've had a project of my own in the past but always tell myself what's the point when there are already so many well established languages like javascript that solve everything I need.

Are employers ever impressed by toy languages, can you make a living writing one? Or is it just some hobby like kite building that is only motivated by pure interest.
