Europe clears Google-Fitbit with a ten-year ban on using health data for ads

Of course Google will use that data - isn't that part of the reason for the acquisition?

They will say they will not but one day they will be found out.

At that point they will blame an errant engineer, "sorry, it should not have been production code", "A mistake". And if there is a fine it will be inconsequential to the data they have extracted.

Google have form in this area, as does facebook and others.

The tiny fines are not a deterrent.
