The future of COBOL is now

The important thing to note is, the COBOL skill shortage isn't as simple as say, a Python skill shortage would be. Learning COBOL itself is easy, but... all of the special-purpose databases and mainframes and stuff are the hard part. It's really an ecosystem problem.
