I discovered so many amazing books through the 'users also bought'. The recommendations that amazon gives now are AI based and terrible in every way. They are never related to what I am looking at currently.

#2Looks like it’s called Frequently bought together now.
Also possible that you were flagged into an A/B test or other UI experiment.
From stories I’ve heard, Amazon is not an org that makes capricious decisions; they’d only deprecate something like that if the data demonstrated a superior alternative.
