#2Such books are nice and can provide insights, but with the amount of digital data available and the recent advances in NLP, I think it's time for a more data-driven approach to "taxonomizing plot"

#3Reminds me of the time I was working on a project that involved combining several interrelated narratives about individuals. My collaborator at one point said, "I've worked out the common thread between all our characters' stories: they all have something they want, and they are all trying to get it."
It was a couple of moments before we both realised the absurdity of that, because it basically applies to every protagonist ever.
