#2I love the blatant lies and propaganda by Firefox where they say the following:
Privacy = Freedom The Firefox browser is built to protect your privacy at every turn - because that's the fastest way to free you from slow loads, bad ads, hackers and trackers. We get the worst of the internet out of the way so there's more room for the best.
I have a couple of problems with this statement.
1) Firefox is not private out of the box. It's default search engine is Google and on the initial opening of FF it sends all kinds of data back to Firefox HQ.
2) Firefox sends telemetry data by default unless disabled. Telemetry data is made up of two data sets: interaction data and technical data. Interaction data includes information about your interactions with Firefox such as number of open tabs and windows, number of webpages visited, number and type of installed Firefox Add-ons and session length, as well as Firefox features offered by Mozilla or our partners such as interaction with Firefox search features and search partner referrals.
Technical data includes information about your Firefox version and language, device operating system and hardware configuration, memory, basic information about crashes and errors, outcome of automated processes like updates and safebrowsing. When Firefox sends data to us, your IP address is temporarily collected as part of our server logs.
3) Firefox Android app it includes 4 trackers plus the default telemetry data collection mentioned above; -google admob -adjust -google firebase analytics -leanplum

I really have to wonder, how Firefox has the stones to make such an outrageous statement concerning it being a privacy browser, when the truth is that it is not.
If you want a truly private browser based on Firefox you have to choose for Android; Privacy Browser by Stoutner

I'm sure this has never been tried by Facebook which they later claim is fucking the internet.
Surly with a company as biased as Mozilla there couldn't be a bias or conflict of interest...

#7Mozilla appears to be not long for this world, and it's incredibly sad.
What we should be doing is pointing fingers at Google, who have no business running the world's top browser, search engine, and ad network. That's a monopoly.

when you install the app.

#9Is it too much to ask for a tech company to just focus on their product and not delve into social advocacy?
Edit: The Unfck the Internet project proclaims to be all about user privacy, but it promotes an extension to report political ads and an extension to report recommended YouTube videos (with the goal of not exposing people certain content). That is why I see this as social advocacy because it's clearly got political motives.

Can you expand on this? On desktop I don't see anything being stored anywhere on this site, but I'm likely missing something.
