#2The drawings of it always made me think of a spotted hyena which a nobleman may have gotten from Africa. Not sure how credible those drawings are though.

#3I can't believe I haven't heard of this before, considering how many people it attacked. I bet it was a pack of abnormally large and vicious wolves. It's weird that the attacks suddenly started, though.

Great movie! Known in English as "Brotherhood of the Wolf", but best watched in French with English subtitles, as the English dubbing is terrible.
