Okay, I am confused here but perhaps I'm missing something. It's a TV show right? So if you download something wouldn't it be an AVI file or a MKV file. How do you do malware in an AVI or MKV file?

One possibility is that it is a fake upload with a name of the form:

    game_of_thrones.mkv.exe

Just like with a lot of email spam malware, and the hope is windows users will launch it without realizing it is really an executable, not a video file.
