See a lawyer and see what steps are needed to ensure you can legally prove you did everything necessary. Might be as simple as a formal letter from the lawyer informing the company that you completed all necessary steps. Then they know you are serious and are legally covered in being able to prove you qualified and performed all necessary steps.

you need to make sure that you deliver your paperwork on your check by registered mail return receipt requested, or they can just say they didn't receive it. If you want to be absolutely certain they can't say that, have an attorney send it for you with a letter on his or her letterhead and then they pretty much have no choice but to accept it, unless you were fired for cause.

This just makes him look like an ass. He should first call up the CFO and ask when they are depositing the check.

Stop contacting them via email. Start using certified mail. Also talk to a lawyer and have them decide what your certified mail should be communicating.

Don't talk to the company or CFO by phone or in person.
