#8Whether you consider facebook's algorithms benevolent or not, the danger actually lies in the fact that people's opinions and friendships are not forming in a more natural and organic way. If relationships and opinions are shaped by an algorithm from a single source, it's more prone to failure, influence, if not by malevolence than by simple incompetence of not knowing the macro effects of a line of code applied to hundreds of millions of people.

#9I feel so sorry for Chris. He did not have real friends, friends who would have made time for a call or stopped by or actually invite to go on a camping trip, anything, where MAYBE he would have slipped a little of a warning of the troubles he had. So sorry for Chris and his mom.
I don’t even know what to say about you ignoring your high school reunion. It’s not FB fault, but it feels such a non issue compared to Chris being gone.
I’m sorry to have to tell you this, but if you don’t talk to people you are really not what most would consider a good friend of them. You are just some reflection of what the good old childhood times used to be.
