Ask HN: I Am Tired of this now, Can I be deleted?

hopefully not, this functionality has crippled some good communities I have been a part of.

1. It destroys any historical data, not just yours, but everyone who ever replied in the context of anything you submitted / commented on.

2. When things are impermanent, people dont feel as much responsibility when they post, its much easier to post a snarky or cruel reply when you know you can just absolve yourself of responsibility down the line.
