#8This is a frankly awful idea. I do not want Facebook acting as some sort of arbiter of what information is truthful. The cure is worse than the disease.

Well, easy, only "mainstream" sources end up being considered trustworthy, and any alternative news source that challenges the world view of NPR, CNN, Fox News, MSNBC, et al (sources that are frankly more alike than different) just gets shut out. Look how quickly places like the Washington Post ate up that "PropOrNot" stuff.
