It is a sad world we live in when normal can be labeled hostile. This is a VERY small minority pushing an agenda that most people quite honestly aren't comfortable with. Yet the very liberal media attempts to paint any sensible legislation as hostile, negative, etc.

This exact same comment could have been written 5 or 10 years ago about all sorts of anti-gay legislation that would be openly mocked today. Forcing people to use bathrooms that do not align with their gender is offensive, inhuman, and is in no way "sensible", by any definition of that word.

These types of legislation are nothing more than overt pandering to a certain type of paranoid, conservative person. It has no measurable (or even imaginary) positive material effect and meanwhile exposes people to further dehumanization, abuse, and paranoia.

Much as you might not like to admit it, there's actually zero cost to you to respect other people and let them expel waste from their body in a bathroom that aligns with their gender. And save me the "comfortableness" in the bathroom argument -- any trans person I know would risk far more chance of discomfort and violence by using a bathroom that matches their gender assigned at birth.

Once again, anti-trans criticism from someone who likely knows no trans people and probably has never met someone who was trans. Too bad that you have such strong, misinformed opinions about something that simply doesn't affect you.

(And a huge thank you to everyone who was willing to be cited in that article or are willing to talk about this issue publicly... and inevitably deal with such fear and hate from some people)

So normal people, don't spend their free time spreading hatred like this...

Normal people spend their time trying to improve the quality life for all.

The New York Times shares that there are now over 1.4 Million transgender Americans (https://www.nytimes.com/2016/07/01/health/transgender-popula...)

That number would be even higher if we weren't bringing children up in a world that trained them being themselves was wrong and ultimately lead to high suicide rates for these innocent kids.

You need to focus on identifying the problem space, which is clearly "allowing human beings to use the restroom safely". If you want to contribute to the conversation (meaningfully) then please suggest a way that works for everyone.

A common suggestion is to completely rid our society of the concept of "2 gender bathrooms for men and women".

Would that put your concerns as a narrow minded asshat at mind?

No.

Because you aren't here to solve problems, you are here to bitch.

I know plenty of transgender men who are wiser, and more manly than you will ever be.

PS: This is me in the article.
