For me, as an Israeli Jew, I find him too compromised by nationalism to bother with. I'd much rather read Primo Levi or Paul Celan.

#8A sad day. Although much of what he wrote was controversial, he remains my favorite author I was assigned to read in three separate occasions in high school.
