Do I sense some sarcasm in that line?

"JavaScript developers will now have to find new ways to do what Koçulu’s micro-libraries did, such as adding two numbers, dividing by four and putting some text on screen."

The whole site is sarcasm, and IMO this one is rather stupid because it adds nothing.

After just going to the homepage of the flipped bit, it's quite clear, I think, that this is an Onion-style website, so yes, definitely sarcasm. The whole article was dripping with it, like the part where they say it "had over eight downloads in its three year life", or that it "totally shocked JS developers, who are known for their sensible, pragmatic approach to including third party code". It made me chuckle.

I'm not sure that it adds nothing. It's obvious what it's satirizing, but when you get to the end of the article, it does make you wonder what the big deal was.

The reason why Azer Koçulu removing his modules from npm was such a big deal is because a lot of high profile modules depended on at least one of Azer's modules. When you find out that the reason all these modules started breaking is because they needed to load a module to pad a string, the only appropriate reaction is a face palm.
