#5I'm shocked that they have waited this long. They really seemed to ramp up support for Xamarin. Seemed like this was a no brainer.

#63 years ago this would be a sad news for Xamarin, today with the new Microsoft I'm glad to see this. Microsoft will not destroy Xamarin (I hope)

#7Congrats to Nat and Miguel! This seems to make a ton of sense, and unlike other acquisitions by big corps this seems like a great move for both Xamarin and their customers.

I thought they would have done this 2 years ago. It seems that every Build, Xamarin was there in a big, big way.

#10As someone who works in .NET ecosystem, this is HUGE.
I think there is huge synergy [1] to be exploited by combining Xamarin's team with language/compiler design/visual studio team. I think MS is extremely well positioned to be a leading development platform across desktop/web/mobile in the enterprise space with this acquisition.
