We are looking for Software Engineers at all levels to help us build the chassis of Oracle's cloud platform using Clojure.
We’re using many technologies including Java (obviously!), clojure, docker, kubernetes and mesos - there’s a broad range across the microservices architecture.
The culture here is incredibly relaxed and not at all “corporate”. The Bristol lab, as well as being one of the key architectural centers globally, also maintains a high degree of autonomy and control over what we do, and how we do it. The environment is engineer-led and perfect for enabling developers to contribute ideas to our groundbreaking projects.
The Cloud team are developing the CI/CD pipeline that will allow Oracle’s 30,000 developers to deploy their SaaS installs, patches and upgrades into the 19+ tier 4 datacentres to the right place, on time, so just works. All installs, patches and upgrade will go through the pipeline, through integration, staging and into production and made available to millions upon millions of individual users far faster and with less overheads than any on-premises system previously. All logged and tracked using ELK so there’s full transparency.
The aim is to reduce the deployment time to less than one hour and completely remove the need for manual intervention from ops.
We’re looking for are people with an insatiable curiosity to learn new technologies - a contributer to open source would fit in well. Someone who doesn't accept the current paradigm or framework, but bends or changes it to his or her needs. The quality of engineer is exceptional and new team mates must be able to work in a collaborative and open environment that puts an emphasis on betterment and learning.
