there are a .....lot of forks already, no putting the genie back in the bottle for this one, I'd imagine.

Forks are easy for Github to shut down simultaneously. What you really want is to upload the code as a new repo (ideally a different name from the original one). But it shouldn't be too hard in practice to detect uploading the same codebase as one that's taken down if that's desired.

but once forked people will have local copies, that can be put up onto other sites, if GH take them down.

The question "why" is always answered with post-hoc rationalizations. This applies to both LLMs and humans.

No, I think a lot of humans can explain why they're adding a new button to the checkout page, or why they're removing a line from the revenue reconciliation job. There's always a reason a change gets made, or else nobody would be working on it at all :)

Try meditating until you discover the source of internal dialogue.

Looks like Anthropic called in a favor and it's removed now.

Ah, another you can’t, but they can. I’m still a little humored over peak web3 and the DAO / soft contract nonsense. Like in order to stop fraud entire coins were forked…

The novel Red Team Blues involves a similar plot with a crypto token that's supposed to be immutable. It's pretty entertaining.

Oh boy, you couldn't be more wrong. If something, LLM-s need MORE readable code, not less. Do you want to burn all your money in tokens?

I very much doubt Anthropic devs are metered, somehow.

The company does pay per usage for something though, be it data center usage, be it water and power for their own data centers.

Why is Claude Code, a desktop tool, written in JS? Is the future of all software JS or Typescript?

Original author of Claude Code is expert on TypeScript [1] [1] https://www.amazon.com/Programming-TypeScript-Making-JavaScr...

He commented here about it (sort of)
