There was a rug store next to where I grew up in Stockholm which had a sale because they were closing the shop from at least the early 90s until ca 2020 during covid when they closed the shop for real. It's an international thing, down to the neverending "Closing now fr fr" sales. In many countries, "carpet salesman" is equivalent to "used car salesman" as the least trustworthy…

There is a jewelry store in my country which constantly used this tactic and had a "closing soon" sale for YEARS, to the point where it became a meme associated with that specific company. Then they launched a new marketing campaign with the slogan "this time we're not closing - but our prices are as low as if we were!"

I just received a consumer association (consumentenbond) test on car reliability and this time the Tesla Y is the most reliable EV in the overview. It scored 9.3 out of 10. The Toyota Aygo is the most reliable ICE with a score of 9.7. Looks like Tesla has massively improved their reliability.

Pure logic would dictate that Tesla has a market cap of around $5B. It's actually fraudulent that it's not, and for some reason the SEC allows Musk to lie on every earnings call without repercussion.

vw has over 300 billion revenue and way more profit then tesla. still not worth 1/10 of it.

They dont carry spares because of the regenerative breaking if I recall corrrectly? Was a friend tesla owner that told me a while back.

They’ve been running a pilot all this time So did Nikola. Elon said yesterday the unveil is in April “hopefully” Who could possibly argue with that. Obviously everything is way behind elons hype timelines, but I do still think it’s all coming. At least you've identified it for what it is.

They have just finished a 1.7 million square foot factory to build the semi - aiming for 50k units a year.

I think comparisons to Nikola are not very even.

VW is carrying $221B in debt and just closed their main plant in Germany because BYD is eating them alive.

So you're "fully aware" that you're supposed to pay attention, but you still think "making driving more chill" is somehow desirable (or at least supposed to be desirable, for marketing purposes)...

I think you -- and everyone else -- should not only be "distrustful" of these purported "autopilots" or "copilots" or WETF the marketeers call the contraptions, but actively avoid ever buyin any vehicle equipped with them. Just refuse, and do your own damn driving. For everyone's sake, including your own.
