You can repeat this ad infinitum since at that point, they're just being lazy and disrespectful of your time. If I remember right, it's called Socrates method of teaching, but in this case it's done in a malicious manner.

I really hate it. I mean I have AI at home and I love it. I can ask myself to an AI, and probably better than them. If I ask you something, there's a reason why I need your answer, not a forward of an AI answer that I already have.

Currently having a big issue in some of our data pipelines because a lazy engineer vibe coded a bunch of slop that doesn't make much sense and the AI can't help. Looking like we're going to need to scrap all the code and start from scratch.

You know the funny thing is that, the lazy engineer can very likely ask you to just scrap all his code and vibe code again.

Seriously, it's much easier to review the AI generated plan, instead of reviewing their code. What I found is that, if the change surface is small enough, AI can get it right under the correct assumptions, but the noob mistake is to let AI loose and come up with its own, often not correct assumptions. So you got to step in before they generate the whole slop...

The problem with live concerts is that a substantial number of people are holding up their smartphones in front of them and experiencing it through the screen.

TOOL concerts (minus ones at music festivals) typically restrict phone usage for this exact reason.

Maynard lets everyone record the last song and 99% of people respect the request for no phones. It's not even disrespectful for the band, or yourself, its rude to the person behind you.

I agree that intelligent people often get railroaded into a certain kind of life, but I think the prognosis is still a little off. It's clear in the US that owning a successful company has some of the highest outcomes possible in society (if financial freedom is the goal).

People who don't have those types of things in mind can only be so smart in my book.

You think having a million dollars means you don't have to work? I guess it depends on where you live.

Maybe not a million, although having a few million, even just in a bank account earning moderate interest (4.5% PA) is easily enough to retire forever.
